Anyone who has used rubber or plastic cord cover with double-sided tape on non-carpeted surfaces is likely familiar with the fact that after being kicked or tripped over enough, the cover usually comes loose and winds up sliding on the floor, acting like a cross between a banana peel and a connector and/or jack stress tester as cables are pulled when people step on the loose covers. When it comes to carpeting, unless you can drill through the covers and fasten them to the floor, or use some type of industrial strength glue, plastic or rubber covers just aren't going to say put. If you use double face tape, and it pulls off, one side will have carpet fibers stuck to it and the other will stay on the cover, and you'll have to throw it out or spend hours removing the tape residue from the covers.I had just such a project for this weekend, needing to secure / hide an ethernet cable in some small conference rooms with industrial office carpet tiles - and in search for covers, was just about to pull the trigger on some rubber cord covers when I found this.....it seemed like just the trick, since it was only one cable and would only stick harder when stepped on.....and sure enough it is a vastly superior option to the conventional plastic or rubber corder cover - and much flatter to boot! It's very difficult to dislodge even intentionally by kicking at it - I couldn't be happier - just look at the photos!Pros:• Excellent option for short-pile carpeted surfaces• Matte black / charcoal color blends in nicely with black, charcoal or grey carpet• Great for hiding single wires - only is as high as it needs to be, unlike rubber or plastic molded cord covers• Only sticks harder when stepped on• Very flexible for going over the edges of furniture, such as table stands• Velcro backing makes it easy to fasten in places where double-sided tape would not workCons:• More colors would be nice - need gray especially• A spool with greater lengths would be useful• A option with a stiff bendable wire inside would be good for creative installs
