I have been looking for a high quality suede lace substitute for some time now and I have finally found one I truly love. I produce anywhere between one to three hundred necklaces a year and I had been going back and forth between getting real leather, suede, and deerskin lace and faux suede with mixed results. Some faux suede I used broke easily and felt very foamy, but the faux suede I ordered from Beadnova is very resilient! It is very giving, it even has a little stretch to it, and it also is capable of making very small knots without feeling bulky and stiff. It is also a very soft material overall with a very nice feel on the neck which can sometimes be sensitive to scratchier materials. This product was also a killer deal! Why buy two yards of cord over and over again when you can buy in bulk for a fraction of the cost?! I'll definitely be purchasing more, not only when my supply runs low but also in different colors.I frequently use leather cording for my costume projects but have had a growing vegan customer base as time goes on. Because of that I have been looking for some alternative leather cord for the costumes and found this stuff! I am so pleased with it! I was tying pull tabs on bags and it's much easier to tie than suede strips. It's more like a thick felt that looks like suede. I'm pretty confident that it is not actually made from an animal.
