My home was built in the early 1940’s.i have updated all the wiring in the house with the exception of my guest bedroom which still has the ungrounded outlet receptacles. This power strip allows three prong devices to be plugged into it and the cord for this strip is two pronged so it works in my old outlets. Some internal wiring somehow takes care of the grounding. It complies with part 15 of the FCC rules.you can also recharge you phone or other electronic devices with it.
